  1. A varied line-up

Five view types, from a single glazed side to an all-glass car, so the lift follows the building rather than the reverse.

  2. Space kept free

The shaft can sit outside the building, leaving the floor area inside to its occupants.

  3. Engineering skill

Structure, glazing and lighting are designed together, so the car stays a precise object by day and by night.

  4. Added value

A visible lift becomes a landmark: it brings a façade, an atrium or a lobby to life and marks the address.

06Planning

Plan the view from the first sketch.

  1. 01

    External shaft

Fix the shaft position early, inside or on the façade: it sets the supporting structure, the landing access and the weatherproofing.

  2. 02

    Glass and structure

Car glazing and shaft glazing are drawn together with the structural engineers, so the sight lines stay continuous.

  3. 03

    Light

Exterior car lighting is set together with the façade lighting: at night, it is what draws the object.

08Questions

Your questions, our answers.

06 questions

01Where can an observation lift be installed?

On a façade, in an atrium or in a lobby. The shaft can sit outside the building, which leaves the floor area inside to its occupants. Its position is fixed at the first sketch, together with the supporting structure and the landing access.

02Which speeds and loads?

According to Hyundai Elevator, the observation lift covers speeds of 0.75–1.75 m/s, loads of 450–1,600 kg and cars for 6–24 persons. The right point in that range depends on the building height and the traffic: it is set during the study.

03How many car designs are there?

The Hyundai Elevator catalogue shows 10 designs across 5 view types, from a single glazed side to an all-glass car. Each one can join your project from this page.

04Can the finishes be chosen?

Yes. Ceilings, operating panels, hall buttons, indicators, floors, stainless etchings, painted steel and hall lanterns: 82 catalogue references can be added to your project and carried into the study request.

05Do the visuals show the exact car delivered?

No. Images for reference only: colours, wall divisions and indicator colours may vary with capacity and product updates. The exact configuration is confirmed in the study.

06How does the study with Luxury Lift work?

Send us your drawings or a description of the building: where the shaft should go, how many levels and what use. We prepare the layout with your architect and the structural engineers, then the Hyundai Elevator configuration that fits it.
